Some of my family members are trying to put together a trip to Prince Edward Island. My dad's mom was from there, and my dad had planned to visit the island before he died last year but didn't make it. Googling the island I found the lords prayer written in pictographs. There's disagreement about the history of the pictographs, with some believing they were the writing form of the Micmacs (native to the island) and predate euro contact, others who say they are a variation of Egyptian Hieroglyphics imported by Libyan mariners, and others who say Abbe Antoine Maillard, a French missionary on the island in the mid 18th century, created them himself.
